Farwest Climate Control & Electric · 112 N 3rd Ave, Yakima

Heating, cooling and electrical for the Yakima Valley since 1982

Bob Melton started Farwest with one truck. Burt Ross runs it now, with comfort advisors, installers, service techs and electricians you will meet by name.

Six stops on a Farwest week

These are their own job photos, not a catalogue: trucks at the curb, furnaces in garages, basements and closets, and the outdoor units that go with them.

Arrival

Two trucks at the curb

Replacement days usually bring an install crew and a second truck: Jaime runs the project, Zack and Ryan lead the install, and the electricians follow when the job needs a new circuit.

Garage furnace

Finished, and walked through

A new furnace and plenum standing square in the garage, flue run clean past the water heater. The tech stays to show you the filter and the thermostat before the truck leaves.

Basement

Fresh sheet metal under the joists

Basement installs are where duct changes happen. If a room upstairs has always run hot or cold, this is where we add the return or rebuild the run that fixes it.

Closet

A furnace fitted to a closet

Tight closets get a system sized to the house and a filter cabinet you can actually reach. Filter size matters more than most people think, so we tell you which one it takes.

Cooling for a room the ducts missed

A ductless outdoor unit on its wall stand, line set tight to the siding. Our Comfort Advisors design these around the one room that needs it, and say so when a duct fix would do.

Outdoor unit

Level on the pad, clear of the walk

The condenser sits on risers above a fresh pad, lines insulated and tucked to the wall, the paver walk left as clean as we found it.

Same lettering, same number

The van said 457-5346 in 1982. The trucks still do.

Bob Melton grew Farwest from one truck to the fleet on the road today. Farwest has been an American Standard dealer since 2002, and in 2024 Burt Ross took over as owner and operator. The phone number never changed.

“The crew (including Jaime, Wyatt, Zack, and Juan) were courteous and efficient. They answered all of our questions and were friendly and patient. Nate was our initial contact, and he walked us through the process and gave us our options with honesty and clarity. Aurora in the office was also fantastic.”

“Payton was amazing, he helped my parents a lot. He made sure that a temporary AC was brought to their house , and the estimate was very reasonable. Jose brought the unit and helped Payton hook it up. They were both very professional and polite. Thank you!”

Sometimes the honest answer is the duct. One customer had two quotes of 16 to 25 thousand dollars for a split on a hot upstairs room; our advisor suggested adding a hot air return for under 10% of that, and it worked. A Comfort Advisor will tell you which one your house needs.
