Farwest Electric
Residential electrical work from the crew that already knows your house
Farwest Electric is the electrical arm of Farwest Climate Control. Evan, Tyler and Eli wire, repair, inspect and upgrade homes across the Yakima Valley.
Chapter 01
An electrical department inside a heating and cooling shop
Farwest Electric is a residential electrical service dedicated to the safety, efficiency and functionality of homes, and it carries over a decade of experience. That decade belongs to the electrical arm. The heating and cooling side of the company goes back to 1982, when Bob Melton started it with one truck, and Burt Ross has owned it since 2024.
Evan is the lead electrician, Tyler works as an electrician, and Eli is the electrical apprentice. You will hear their names in customer reviews because they are on the same jobs as the install crews. One customer who had a new HVAC unit put in thanked Eli and Evan for handling all the electrical work flawlessly, right alongside the installers and the startup tech.
The first group of work is installations: new home wiring, electrical panel upgrades, and lighting installation indoors and outdoors. If the house is still a set of studs, we wire it. If the panel in the basement is too old to carry what you want to add, we replace it. The panel work has its own page, and it is worth reading if a breaker keeps tripping.

Repairs and maintenance: finding the fault before it finds the wall
Repairs start with troubleshooting and diagnostics, because a dead outlet can be a bad receptacle, a loose connection or a tired breaker, and guessing wastes your money. From there the work is outlet and switch repairs and circuit breaker replacements, done by the same electricians who will install your next circuit.
The maintenance group is where Farwest Electric is most different from a call-when-it-breaks shop. It includes electrical panel thermal imaging and electrical panel inspection, plus an invitation to join the Electrical Safety Club. The idea is simple: check that the electrical system is operating safely instead of waiting for a problem to build up inside your walls.
Comfort Club Plus and Comfort Complete both include a home electrical safety inspection, and they put $250 and $500 toward electrical panel upgrades and generator installs. If you already have a heating and cooling maintenance plan, ask the office which tier you are on. Repairs can be financed too, and the financing page explains how a comfort advisor visits first.
Chapter 03
Specialty work, efficiency upgrades and the houses we wire
Specialty services cover smart home system installations, EV charger installations and home automation solutions. These jobs usually come down to the panel and the circuits behind it, so the electricians look at what the house can carry before anything is mounted on a wall.
Energy efficiency work includes LED lighting upgrades, energy-saving electrical solutions and solar panel installations. Pairing this with a heat pump or a new furnace is common, since the same visit can sort out the circuit that equipment needs.
Their key projects are single-family homes, multi-family residences, historic home renovations and new construction. Historic houses are where a careful inspection earns its keep, because old wiring hides behind plaster that nobody wants to open twice. Call the office, Monday to Friday, 8 to 5, and tell us what the house is doing.
