Everything Farwest fixes, installs and maintains

Bob Melton started Farwest with one truck. Today the trucks carry service techs, install crews, Comfort Advisors and electricians across the Yakima Valley, working on furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ducts, panels and the occasional small commercial building. Start with the three departments below, or scroll to the ledger and find the exact job on your list.

Hub one

Heating and cooling

Heat or A/C repairs, HVAC system replacements, ductless mini split installations, duct modifications and indoor air quality. Cold winters and the extreme months of a Yakima Valley summer are what these crews plan around.

Hub two

Farwest Electric

Panel upgrades, panel inspections and thermal imaging, circuit breaker replacement, lighting, outlets and switches, EV charger installs, smart home systems and new home wiring. Evan, Tyler and Eli run the electrical side, and they often work the same job as the HVAC install crew.

Hub three

Commercial

Light commercial HVAC for small to medium-sized businesses: new system design and installation, custom preventive maintenance plans, repair, zoned systems and smart thermostats. Tyler, the commercial Comfort Advisor, works with retail stores, small warehouses, office buildings, clinics, restaurants and schools.

Every job on the ledger, with its own page

Each line below opens a full page written around that job: what usually fails, who comes to the house and what happens after the work is done.

“He took me aside and said, look, we could do a mini split but....I think adding a hot air return at less than 10% of the cost will do the trick. And by golly he was right.”

  • Farwest technician in an orange company shirt beside a finished garage furnace, ductwork and water heater

    Heat and A/C repairs

A service tech diagnoses what the furnace, heat pump or A/C is doing and gives you options to meet your budget. Repairs can be financed.

  • New grey outdoor condensing unit on black risers and a white pad beside a paver walkway

    HVAC system replacements

A Comfort Advisor walks the house, then an install crew, a startup tech and our electricians finish the job together.

  • White ductless mini split outdoor unit on a wall stand above a concrete pad

    Ductless mini splits

Cooling and heat for rooms the ducts never reached, designed by a Comfort Advisor around the room you actually live in.

  • New furnace with fresh sheet-metal ductwork and flue in an unfinished basement

    Duct modifications

Annoying hot and cold spots usually trace back to the ducts. We find the inefficiency and plan the fix, from a new return to a rebuilt run.

  • New furnace with a filter cabinet and sheet-metal plenum installed in a closet

    Indoor air quality

Filtration, ventilation and duct cleaning that deal with dust, mold, bacteria, viruses and stale air in the house.

    Electrical panel upgrades

Farwest Electric inspects and thermal-images panels, replaces breakers, upgrades panels and wires EV chargers and smart home systems.

After the work: Comfort Club and financing

A system that is installed and then forgotten is the one that fails in January. Comfort Club comes in three plans, each with two seasonal maintenance visits, priority scheduling and credit toward a future replacement. The two upper plans add a home electrical safety inspection and credit toward a panel upgrade. Plan prices are not published, so call the office at (509) 457-5346 and ask.

Financing covers HVAC installs, efficiency upgrades, service and repair work, and electrical upgrades and repairs. A Comfort Advisor visits the house first, you settle on a plan, and approval typically comes within two business days.
